Juan Francis Perez, 92, of Independence, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in Liberty Hospital. Juan was born on April 10, 1930, to Luis and Sara Perez. He graduated from William Chrisman High School class of 1949 before enlisting in the military. Juan was in the Army from 1951-1953 and served our country proud in the Korean War. He was happily employed at the US Postal Service for 35 years and was a supervisor when he retired in 1990. During Juan's life he also worked as a realtor for Cliff Brisbois Real Estate Co and was a co-owner of Rujon Enterprises. Juan was very strong in his faith and was a knight in his church. He was very intelligent, loved reading, and was quite the historian. He was a big sports enthusiast and loved rooting for the Chiefs. More than anything Juan loved his family.
Juan is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Ruth (Munoz) Perez of the home, children; John (Diane) Perez, Mike (Judy) Perez, Joe Perez, Joseph (Connie) Montoya, Anthony Montoya, Ricardo Montoya, and Yolanda (Donald) Adams, twenty-one grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Luis and Sara, sons Thomas Perez and Peter Perez, and daughters Mary Lou Perez and Linda Perez. The family will be celebrating Juan's life with a visitation Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 10:30am-12pm followed immediately by a funeral mass at 12pm, both at St Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone, MO. Luncheon immediately following burial at the church.
