Obituary from The Times-News (Twin Falls, ID) - Saturday, May 6, 2000:
Helen A. Hendrix, 86, died May 3, 2000 at Sunbridge in Twin Falls, of natural causes.

She was born on December 10, 1913 in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of three children born to James F. and Nettie Bever. She moved with her family to Filer in 1914 where her father homesteaded a farm west of Filer. She attended grade school at rural Washington Elementary, and graduated from Filer High School in 1930.

Helen met Carl N. Hendrix while attending high school and they married on March 26, 1933. The couple farmed east of Buhl for two years before moving to their home of 65 years in 1935.

Helen was a life-long member of Cedar Grange and Cedar Draw Womens Club. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for the grange for many years. She also played for weddings and other events until arthritis prevented it. She enjoyed watching athletics at Buhl High School, camping and fishing at Magic Reservoir, Mormon Reservoir, and Rosewoth. Eventually they purchased a cabin at Magic Dam and spent time relaxing and fishing.

Helen is survived by three sons, Jim (Dixie) and Gordon (Karen), both of Buhl, and David (Kathy) of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, J.C. (Bea) Hendrix.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; her parents; a sister, Ruth Durgin; and a brother, Clarence Bever.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2000, at the First Christian Church, with burial to follow at the West End Cemetery.
