Born at Kingston, May 30, 1873, she spent her early life there, and had lived in Henry County for 10 years preceding the last six months.
She was married to Oren Avery at Mount Pleasant May 24, 1893.
Mrs. Avery was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Avery, New London, and Pearl Avery, Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren, Elwood Avery, Fort Madison, and Mrs. Virginia Septer, Fairfield; one sister, Fannie Henson, Burlington; one brother, William Brockway, Muscatine; three great grandchildren.
A daughter and her husband died previously.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Wallen's chapel with Rev. James H. Buikema officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery.
