Obituary:
Born in Hilo on 9/25/1933 to Daniel Kani'ela Kamekona & Vera Lani Kapu Aina "Nonny". Her brother was actor 'Danny' Kamekona. Noe ascended peacefully to heaven on the morning of 1/16/20 from Hale Mohalu, surrounded by loved ones. Affectionately known as 'Aunty Noe' or 'Vera', she was Mom, Tutu, singer/chorister, teacher, scholar, advocate, kumu hula/Hawaiian studies specialist & art aficionado. Noe & Richard Meek Crabbe were both Kamehameha '51 alumni and had 6 keiki together: Curt, Nolan, Ian, Rich, Cy & Cara Lani. 10 mo'opuna & 23 mo'opuna kuakahi carry on. Noe earned multiple degrees from UH-Manoa. A member of the LDS Pearl City Ward, many will remember her indelible angelic voice & exuberant spirit. Her students may remember her engaging teaching style and independent nature, as a kumu hula & educator. Please join us on Friday evening, 2/28. Viewing: 6PM, Service: 7PM.
