Betty T. Alward, 81, of Crawfordsville, died Monday in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Alward was employed with Loebs at Crawfordsville. She also taught ceramic classes for Artists and Craftsman of Indiana. Her memberships included the Crawfordsville Art League, the First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Circle. She attended Crawfordsville High School.
She was born Aug. 4, 1912, at Sheridan to Edward B. and Nora M. Newman Timmons. She married Paul Russell Alward Sept. 24, 1932. He died Dec. 30, 1965.
Survivors include a sister, Katherin Ewing og Danville, Ind.; two daughters, Paula Sekula of Bloomington and Linda Park of Denver, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday in the Burkhart Funeral Home. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery North. Friends may call from noon Thursday until the time of service in the funeral home.
