17 Sept 1958: J. Mark Wilhelm, 115 South Second St., this city, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Good Samaritan Hospital where he was admitted 10 days previously for medical treatment. He was 70. Wilhelm, a well-known and popular resident of this city most of his life, was ill for some time. Several months ago, he was hospitalized for surgical treatment. His death was attributed to complications. He was a retired employee of the Philadelphia Dairies Inc., by which firm he was employed as an ice cream cabinet serviceman for about 22 years. At one time, he was a mechanic for the former Harkins Buick auto agency, this city. A native of the VA Hospital area, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Catherine (Snyder) Wilhelm. The elder Wilhelm was a farmer. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ and the Men's Bible Class of the church. Surviving is his wife, the former Jennie V. Wise, formerly of Cornwall, two sons, Joseph L., Middletown, and G. Lloyd, Washington, D. C., and two grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, I. Stanley, of Palmyra, and J. Anson, of Lebanon, and three sisters, Miss Stella Wilhelm, Palmyra; Mrs. Allen Kettering, Lebanon, and Mrs. Sadie Gibble, of Iona. [Lebanon Daily News]
