Born November 22, 1939 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Carden and Lillian Westgate Carden Arnold.
Joe was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and was a former employee of the Gentex Corporation, Simpson. A member of the Covenant Reformed Church, he also was a sergeant with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard where he served with the 1st Battalion of the 109th Infantry, 28th Division, until his retirement in 2000.
An ardent patriot, Joe will be remembered as a warm and gentle man.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Richard Carden and a sister: Beverly Mroczka.
A graveside service with military honors was held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, 400 State Route 106, Greenfield Township, PA.
