NELLIE ELAM OBITUARY (from the Shoshone-News Press)

Nellie May Elam, 89

Nellie Elam Passed away peacefully December 11, 2022 at Good Samaritan in Silverton ID; she was 89 years old. Everyone there loved her very much. She was well taken care of and each caregiver we talked to said how hilarious she was and how she touched each and everyone's lives. They gave her nothing but care and love.

Nellie was born on August 30, 1933, in Blachly, Oregon to Ervin and Clara Wolfe. After High School, she married Jasper Elam on May 14, 1953 in Blachly, Oregon. They raised four beautiful children in Pinecreek, Idaho. Debbie (Ron) Dewitt, Louis (Tami) Elam, Tim

(Connie) Elam, and Jennifer (Martin) Crawford. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

First and foremost, Nellie was a dedicated mother. She especially loved her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with all of her family. Her love of children was undeniable, and she was especially excited when she became a grandmother. She kept pictures of all of her grandchildren on her refrigerator until the next set of pictures would come.

She was such a loving person who would accept anyone into her life with open arms. She loved each one unconditionally.

Nellie was quite a character. Instead of saying goodbye, she would say, "See you in the funnies." She would stand at the window and wave every time we left her house until we were completely out of sight.

And finally, as she would say, "See you in the funnies."
