MT. VERNON- Pamela Elaine Carter, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at The Laurels of Mt. Vernon, where she was a resident.

She was born Oct. 27, 1946 to the late Ross F. and Alice Loretta (Schaub) Carter. She was a 1964 graduate of Danville High School, and soon after began employment at the former United Telephone Co. in Mt. Vernon. She later worked at the Mansfield office, where she was a supervisor until her retirement. She then worked for Knox Area Transit as a dispatcher. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia (Richard) Frazee of Howard; two nieces, Beth Morrow of Grove City, and Mauricha Marcussen of New Albany; a nephew, Ross (Emily) Carter of Fredericktown; and several great-nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Carter; and a nephew, Richie M. Frazee.

Private burial will take place in Loudonville Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Fischer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
