STAR CITY -- Lottie Tarlton, 79, of Star City, died Wednesday at her home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1925, at Kingsland (Cleveland County), a daughter of the late John Thomas Earnest and Idella Smith Earnest.

She retired from National Wire at Star City, where she worked as a machinist.

She was a member of Overcoming Faith Worship Center at Star City.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Ballinger and Penny Penix, both of Star City, Katherine Broyles of Tichnor (Arkansas County) and Brenda McCuan of Tillar; two brothers, Charlie Veo "Bo" Earnest and James Richard Earnest, both of Star City; one sister Retha Shelby of Star City; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Griffin Funeral Service at Star City with Don Borland, Jim Hughes and Jack Bates officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery near Star City.
