"The Western Citizen", Paris, Kentucky, 17 August, 1872:
"Conn, Capt. William died in this county at the residence of his son-in-law, Eld. John A. Gano, age 88 years the day of his death. A very large crown of friends by whom he was dearly beloved, listened to the funeral discourse by Dr. Hopson. Capt. Conn was a gallant soldier of 1812."

"Historic Architecture of Bourbon County, Kentucky" by Langsman & Johnson, 1985, By Historic Paris-Bourbon County, Inc., p47:
1812-1861: "Bellevue: William Conn / Rev. John Allen Gano, Sr. ". . . Set above a sweeping drive near the intersection of the Georgetown and Russell Cave Roads at Centerville, . . . At least part of this dwelling may correspond to the structure he built in 1804 or 1805 for Capt. William Conn (1784-1872), a veteran of the War of 1812. His father, Captain Thomas Conn (1733-1811) was the first settler of the Centerville area, claiming 2,000 acres west of the crossroads before 1790. William Conn is shown on the 1861 map as owning the house 'Bellevue' and a store at the Certerville intersection. After his death in 1872, the farm was acquired by the Rev. John Allen Gano Sr. who had married Conn's only child, Catharine, in 1827."
