ELISE O'CONNOR Elise O'Connor, the mother of actor Carroll O'Connor, (Archie Bunker) died in her sleep Saturday in her Manhattan apartment at age 93. She taught in the city's public school system for more than 30 years and reared Carroll and two other sons both of whom grew up to be doctors in the Forest Hills section of Queens. Daughter of the founder of the weekly newspaper The Irish Advocate, which ceased publication about five years ago, O'Connor was an alumna of Hunter College and New York University. "She had a tremendous influence on her sons," Carroll O'Connor said in a telephone interview. "She had a lot of push and enthusiasm. She was always pushing us ahead and getting us ahead. She had plenty of money and she used it on her kids." In addition to Carroll O'Connor, she is survived by another son, Robert, a brother James and six grandchildren, including Carroll's son Hugh, who stars with his father in the CBS television series "In the Heat of the Night" Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home in Manhattan. A Mass is planned for tomorrow morning at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament on W. 71st St.
