Lois M. Beicher, 81, a 25-year resident of Mt. Prospect, was a homemaker and longtime community volunteer. Mrs. Beicher, who was born in Cleveland, died Sunday, May 21, in her home. Mrs. Beicher was a volunteer for nearly 15 years, until 1990, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and Friendship Park Conservatory in Mt. Prospect. Mrs. Beicher was also a volunteer with Homemakers Extension Service, a community service organization in the northwest suburbs. "She was kind," said her daughter Sue Livingston. "She was an old-fashioned wife and mother. Her mom was a teacher. She learned her way of life from her." Mrs. Beicher is also survived by a son, John; a sister, Mildred Strack; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday when a service will begin in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect.
