Eric Clifford Solie, 67, passed away January 8, 2021, at his home in Palmetto, FL.

He was born September 18, 1953, in Dayton, OH. Eric lived most of his life in the Atlanta and Tampa Bay areas. He attended high school in Tampa at H.B. Plant High (1969) and Chamberlain High, where he graduated in the Class of 1971. In 1980, Eric found the love of his life, Jolin, a meeting he always described as love at first sight.

The couple married a year later and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Eric, a jack of many trades, worked in television, theater and video production sales before establishing Solie Services in 2007. In addition to providing pool service, seasonal maintenance and handyman services for his clients, Eric joined the Sarasota Memorial Hospital team in 2010 as a part-time Supply Chain clerk; he maintained both jobs until his passing. Known for his caring heart, subtle humor and humble manner, Eric loved his family fiercely.

He was an avid reader, happy to spend the day with a few books and a comfy chair, and was a dog lover who rescued many pups through the years, including Roach, Molly, Star, Chester and Roxy. His big heart and sincere smile will be missed by all his life touched. He is survived by wife, Jolin; daughters; siblings [named in the obituary]; fur baby, Emmett and grand-dog, Tank.

A Private Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Nate's Honor Animal Rescue in Bradenton, FL. (nateshonoranimalrescue.org). Condolences may be made to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
