Byrd was a daughter of Richard Clements and his wife, Mary Jane Fisher.


Byrd married William "Perry" Wilking and they had one son, Richard. Byrd was a homemaker, a member of Central Church of Christ in Bedford, Indiana, and was a wonderful person.She taught Bible classes to the young children and helped guide them through their early years. She was preceded in the death of her husband Perry, who died in 1959.

OBITUARY

Bertha Edith Clements Wilking, 102, of Bedfored, died Friday at Bedford Hospitality House.
Born July 8, 1897, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Richard and Mary Jane Fisher Clements. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, H Richard Wilking of Williamsburg, VA., two grandchildren, Libby McMullen of Spencer, Iowa and John Wilking of Burlington, VT; her caregiver and brother-in-law, Merle Knight of Bedford; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Perry Wilking in 1959.
Services will be 1 pm Monday at Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Ermil Norman officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 am until services at the funeral home.
