Cedric Benjamin Baldwin II, known to all as Ben, passed away on October 22nd, 2022 at the age of ninety one. Ben passed away peacefully at his home in Honolulu. Ben was born on September 24, 1931 in Makaweli Kauai.

He spent his early childhood on Kauai, where his father, Cedric Benjamin Baldwin, was the manager of McBryde Sugar Plantation. Ben was a fifth generation direct descendant of Reverend Dwight Baldwin, an early missionary to Hawaii. Ben spent his childhood summers in Hanalei and Koke'e on Kauai.

His family later moved to Honolulu, where Ben attended Punahou School. He was a varsity letterman in swimming, and graduated from Punahou in 1950. Ben went on to attend the University of Oregon, and later graduated from the University of San Francisco. After college, he served for two years as an Army Lieutenant in San Francisco.

Shortly afterward he returned to Hawaii, where he founded his business, Baldwin Products. Ben was a member of Waialae Country Club and The Outrigger Canoe Club. Ben enjoyed bodysurfing, gardening, and was an avid golfer. Ben was known for his kind and gentle disposition, his sense of humor, and his love for life.

Ben's greatest attribute was the love he had for his family and friends. Ben is survived by his wife, Kathy Townsend Muller, his three children Karen Baldwin Nathanson, Licia Baldwin Brown, and Cedric Benjamin Baldwin III, as well as four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held in Hanalei at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Surfrider Foundation of Kauai or Kuilei Cliffs Foundation on Oahu.
