George Brenner Dies In California

George Brenner, aged 72, was killed in Los Angeles, California, last Sunday afternoon when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the street. He lived but a short time.

Mr. and Mrs. Brenner left Dayton Tuesday of last week for Los Angeles where they had planned to spend their declining years. They had been residents of this village for the past few years and on Monday had called on local friends, giving them a final handshake and hoping them health and happiness. A week after word comes of his tragic death. His many friends here were shocked when apprised of his fate.

Mr. and Mrs. Brenner spent last winter in California with relatives and liked the climate so well that they decided to make the western state their home for their remaining years.

Dayton relatives have received word to the effect that Mr. Brenner will be buried in California. However, a son who resides at Hot Springs, Arkansas is expected to arrive at Los Angeles today and it is thought that arrangements may be changed upon his arrival and his body brought to Lewisburg for burial. His sons and daughter favor the plan of bringing his body here.

Until his retirement to a farm near here. Mr Brenner was affiliated with the Barney & Smith Car Co. for 31 years.

He was a member of Lewisburg Lodge No. 695, Knights of Pythias, and of Gem City lodge, I.O.O.F. No. 795.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Willard of Dayton; Harry of Cincinnati, and George, a resident of Hot Springs, Ark.; and one daughter, Mrs. William Paris, also of Cincinnati.
