Nicholas Joseph Stiso, 73 of Winchester, VA passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at University of Virginia Medical Center.
Nick was born in Newark, NJ the son of the late Nicholas and Josephine Stiso. He was a graduate of Irvington High School and served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War in Thailand. Nick retired as an inside lineman for Bell Atlantic/Verizon. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church. Nick had a profound faith and loved reading scripture, loved the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed history, loved food and cooking, gardening and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. Nick was his son's troop leader with the Royal Rangers, loved pirates and the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies, Lord of the Rings books and going to the beach when he was young.
Nick married Sharon Furman on July 11, 1981 in Toms River, NJ. Sharon preceded him in death on January 9, 2017.
He is survived by son, Andrew Nicholas Stiso (Cheryl) of Golden, CO; grandchildren, Alina Mae and Edith Anne Stiso; brothers, Victor Stiso (Terri) and Gregory Stiso and sister, Marylou Colicchio (Tom).
Nick is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon and daughter Danielle Marie Stiso.
A service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 4pm at Crossroads Community Church. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10am. Officiating will be Pastor Bobby Alger.
