KATHLEEN KILGUS OBITUARY
Kathleen Kilgus, 73, of Beulah, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, after a long, valiant struggle with COPD.

Born in Racine, Wisconsin, on May 10, 1944, to parents Dorothy and Joseph Kost and raised by her mother, deceased, and stepfather, Harry Stewart, deceased, Kathleen is survived by her husband, high school sweetheart, and best friend, Jim Kilgus; brothers, Harvey (Cathy), Terry (Jim Molloy) Joseph (Kelly), and sister, Gail (Lee) Sucharda.  She is also survived by: sons, Ray (Jennifer) Antel III, Timothy (Joyce) Antel, Kevin (Veronica) Antel; stepdaughter, Heidi (Mark) Sexten; 12 grandchildren, Raymond IV, Emma, Maxwell, Zoe, Elliot, Timothy II, Shelby, Melody, Joseph, Benjamin, Juliana, and Chloe; as well as many nieces and nephews.
After a family move to Grand Rapids, Kathleen graduated from Creston High School in 1962 and soon became a resident of Beulah for some 40 years.  When her boys were of school age, she spent 22 years as secretary for the Crystal Lake Elementary School and came to know many families in the area.
First and foremost in life were her family and friends, who she loved dearly.  She doted on her many grandchildren and their accomplishments as they grew.  She was also a devoted gardener and enjoyed picking weeds from her gardens as much as seeing the flowers flourish.  During winters when her flowers were covered with snow, she enjoyed embroidering shirts, pillowcases, and other items and giving them to friends and family.  Kathleen also marveled at the wonderful sunsets over her cherished Crystal Lake viewed from her back deck, summer and winter.
Kathleen's Celebration of life will be conducted 12 Noon, Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, with the Reverend Kenneth Blair officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11AM until time of services at the funeral home.
