John Wayne Nelson, Jr. (formerly Nordine Mohamedi) passed away December 15, 2022. John Jr. found his paternal biological family (Marie Brady and Perry Joe Nelson) in Texas in 2016., with the help of a genealogist. He visited several times from France, and we embraced this sweet man wholeheartedly. His father, John Wayne Nelson Sr. was stationed in Chateauroux, France when he met John's mother. He was then sent to Vietnam where he was seriously wounded. John Wayne Nelson Sr. was then sent back to the States to recover where he died in an automobile accident near Ft. Bragg. John Jr. grew up knowing only that his father was from the U.S. and his name. His mother believed his dad had died in Vietnam. Following his mother's death, he vigorously sought information about his dad. He visited Texas several times and fell in love with Texas and his extended family. John Jr. wrote a book about his experience called "How I found my dad in Texas, DNA never lies" which can be found on Amazon. And was featured in many newspapers here in the states as well as documentaries in France.

Rest in Peace, dear cousin. It was a pleasure to get to know you. Thank you for finding us.
