Professional Fencer, Olympic Athlete. He was a star athlete of early British fencing, especially during the Summer Olympics that were held in Berlin, Germany, in 1936 and in London, England, in 1948. He is also remembered for winning the épée title at the British Fencing Championships which were held in 1939. He was born one of two children as Terence Elliott Beddard to Frank Cecil Beddard (1865-1907), and his wife Annie Georgina Augusta Elliot Beddard (1872-1949), in Suva, Fiji, on October 30, 1901. He was educated locally and worked as a company director in St. Pancras, England, while pursuing his professional fencing career. He represented his native country of Great Britain as a member of the Lansdowne Club Fencing Team first at the Summer Olympics which were held in Berlin, Germany, in 1936, where he competed a total of eleven times during the Team Quarter-Finals in the Pool Four Unit with rank scores of 3, 2, 1T, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, NC, and 2. He also had 0 Matches Won, 2 Matches Lost, 9 Bouts Wons, 17 Bouts Lost, 9 Team Bouts Won/Touches Delivered, 3 Individual Bouts Won, and 15 Touches Delivered. He represented his native country of Great Britain as a member of the Lansdowne Club Fencing Team second at the Summer Olympics which were held in London, England, in 1948, where he competed a total of four times during the Team Quarter-Finals and Team Round One in the Pool Two Unit and the Pool Five Unit with rank scores of 4, 2, 2, and 1. He also had 1 Matches Won, 3 Matches Lost, 21 Bouts Won, 37 Bouts Lost, and 13 Bouts Won/Touches Delivered. He fought fencing matches against other countries including Poland, Egypt, Brazil, France, and the likes of other professional fencers including, Henri Joseph Marie Dulieux (1897-1982), Paul Albert Wormser (1905-1944), Philippe Louis Eugene Cattiau (1892-1962), Rajmund Karwicki (1906-1979), Roman Josef Kantor (1912-1943), and Teodor Zaczyk (1900-1990), among many others. In addition to the Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, in 1936, and the Summer Olympics in London, England, in 1948, he also won the épée title at the British Fencing Championships beating out his fellow Lansdowne Club Fencing Team member Michael McCready (1913-2007), in a play-off in 1939, and taking part in the World Championships in 1947. He continued to be active in sports and other pursuits until his death. He passed away at the Twyford Abbey Nursing Home in Ealing, England, on August 21, 1966, at the age of 64. Following his death, his funeral service and cremation were a private affair which was held for family members at Mortlake Crematorium in Mortlake, England. He was married to Ursula Mary Hamilton Gurney Richards Beddard (1905-1985), in Surrey, England, on April 23, 1927, but the couple later divorced. The couple had no children together.
