He was born December 19, 1942 in Parkersburg, WV, and was the son of the late Herman C. and Ada Gray McPeek.
He was a member of the Pipefitters Local 798. He enjoyed helping many up-and-coming young welders get their start as they pursued the pipeline world. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Mount Olive #3. He was a Master Electrician and mechanic in the National Guard.
Mouse was a known sprint car driver who raced in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He won several track championships and was inducted into the Atomic Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2021. Larry also enjoyed drinking Jack Daniels, a lot of times more than the people around him enjoyed him drinking it.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his three sons, Wayne McPeek of Mineral Wells, WV, Spencer McPeek (Alicia) of Bartlett, OH and Wally McPeek of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Sara Smith (Austin) and Ethan McPeek both of Parkersburg, WV, Eric, Jason, and James McPeek all of Bartlett, OH.
A graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. ~ Monday, December 19, 2022, at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg with Pastor Chris Waldron officiating.
