PORTVILLE --- Shirley A. Robinson, a longtime resident of 1605 Lillibridge Road, Portville, passed away at home on Friday (December 16, 2022) after a brief illness.

Born February 6, 1944, in Hinsdale, she was the daughter of Claude Ludden and Emmeline Childs. On February 10, 1962, she married Francis R. Robinson, who survives.

Shirley was a longtime caretaker and housecleaner for many families. She was a custodian at Portville Central School and also worked for AVX and for the former Pinewood Diner. She was a longtime member of River's Edge United Methodist Church in Portville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking care of her home, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of nearly 61 years, Shirley is survived by; three children, Craig L. Robinson of Clarksville, Raymond R. (Colleen) Robinson of Cuba, and Ann M. Gilbert of Northeast, PA; four grandchildren, William F. Robinson, Robert Gilbert, III, Dacota (Jacob) Ames, and Sarah Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Hannah, and Mallory Ames; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by; one son, James A. Robinson; one grandson, Michael Robinson; her siblings, Alice (Earl) Baker; and Donald (Rosemary) Ludden; one niece Rebecca Light; and one nephew Donald Baker.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Tuesday (December 20, 2022) from 11am-1pm. Funeral services will begin at 1pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Cattaraugus County Meals on Wheels, 1 Leo Moss Drive, Olean, NY 14760 or to the River's Edge United Methodist Church, PO Box 287, Portville, NY 14770.
