Italian Actor. The son of a cinema projectionist, he left high school at sixteen years old and moved to Rome to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. After playing the role of a slave in the film "Ben-Hur," he made his official debut in Pietro Germi's "Divorce, Italian Style," and soon specialized in roles of the average immigrants from southern Italy. After two successful "James Tont" films in which he played a parody of James Bond, starting from the late 1960s, he achieved great success in a series of all'italiana films. As the genre declined, he slowed down his filmmaking, focusing on theater and television.
