John served his country with the U.S. Army during WW II. On February 7, 1947, in Crown Point, IN, he was united in marriage to Carol G. Johnson, who preceded him in death on August 23, 2002. On December 26, 2003, at Calvary Memorial Church, he was united in marriage to Lois Maurer.
John was a skilled carpenter and built many homes here in Racine. He later worked for American Motors (now Chrysler) for over 30 years, retiring on February 29, 1992. He was a member of Calvary Memorial Church, the U.A.W. Local 72 Retirees, and the A.M.C. 30 Year Club. John loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and had a great fondness for Lake Michigan, with his boat Big John. He truly loved his God, his family, and his dog Annie.
Surviving are his wife, Lois, their children, daughter-in-law Bonnie Anderson, Sandi Larson, Scott (Carmie) Anderson, Chris (Christine) Anderson, Becky Krug, Thomas Maurer, Kurt (Deanna) Maurer, and Rod (Nicola) Maurer. Also surviving are many addition loved ones including grandchildren, great grandchildren and YES great-great grandchildren. See online version for the list.
In addition to his parents and wife Carol, John was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Clinton, infant sister, Nordis Helen Anderson and twin brothers, Russell and Ralph Anderson and son John Anderson IV.
