Poni McMinn, age 90, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2022 in Abilene.

Her family invites you to a visitation on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home from 6-8pm.

Funeral services for Poni will be held at 10am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Wylie Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Hardin of Lakepointe Church officiating and assisted by Pastor Mike Harkrider of Wylie Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Poni was born in Caps, Texas to Floyd and Ola Kennedy on April 25, 1932.

She went to school in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High.

She married Milton McMinn on June 1, 1950 in Abilene.

She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. From her early years of marriage, she and Milton were active as youth leaders in their church. In later years, Poni continued to invest in the lives of children and teenagers. She and Milton enjoyed time with friends at church and around the domino table. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her immediate and extended family.

Poni was preceded in death by her loving husband Milton, infant child Patsy Carin, brother Herman Kennedy, and grandson Andrew McMinn.

Poni is survived by her children Tricia Hogan (Ken) of Abilene, Bobby McMinn (Shirley) of Bells, Texas, Ricky McMinn (Rebecca) of Mapleton, Oregon; a sister-in-law Pat Beck of San Angelo, TX; her 7 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 niece and beloved extended family.

Pallbearers will be David Hogan, Nic McMinn, Ethan Hogan, Milton Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Russell Johnson, and Hunter Beal.

Memorials may be given to Wylie Baptist Church or Hendrick Hospice. Poni's family wishes to extend a special thanks to Sue Gibson and her caregivers at Bethel Suites.
