Stanley Reuben Bentley was a service casualty of WW1

Stanley was born in Streatham, Surrey, the son of Thomas William and Martha Harriet Bentley (nee Brady) and he was a brother to Norman Eric, and there was another brother Stuart Alexander Bentley who had passed away in 1897. Stanley spent most of his life in the South London area but by the time he enlisted in Whitehall, he was living at The Poplars in Squirrels Heath, Romford, Essex according to SDGW (Soldiers Died In The Great War). He served as Rifleman 554719 1st/16th Bn. London Regiment (Queen's Westminster Rifles)

No service records seem to have survived indicating they were destroyed in WW2. Stanley died of wounds in France and was laid to rest at MAROEUIL BRITISH CEMETERY aged 19. Stanley is also commemorated on the Romford War Memorial and also on the War Memorial panels at the St. Edward the Confessor Church, also in Romford, Essex.
