ELKHART -- Mark A. Brown, 54, residing in Elkhart, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at his home.
Mark was born Oct. 8, 1956, in Long Beach, Calif., to the late Charles F. and Violet (Woods) Brown. He married Andrea G. Crisp on Aug. 31, 1979, in Elkhart.
Surviving are his wife, Andi G. Brown of Elkhart; son Christopher Cover of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; brothers George, David and Patrick; and sisters Madonna, Rosie and Keri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Chuck and Robert.
Mark worked at Miles Laboratories, then Bayer Corp., in Elkhart and Mishawaka for more than 28 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed volunteering at Osceola American Legion Post 308, where he was a member, served with the color guard and was most recently commander of the post. Mark like to BBQ outside, and was a huge Jimmy Buffet fan and enjoyed attending his concerts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where a short remembrance service will follow. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home by Osceola American Legion Post 308 at the conclusion of the service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Legion Post 308 or the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
