LINCOLN - Shirley G. Briggs, 86, died April 3, 2010, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Sherman, daughter of James and Valerie (Welch) Malcolm.

She is survived by five children, Almon of Lincoln, Richard of Houlton, Arthur and Shirley-Ann, both of Oakfield and Margaret of Portland; her son, Raymond, who passed away the morning after she died; a brother, Warren Suitter of Sherman; a sister, Patty Carver of Patten; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Briggs; two infant sons; a son, Kenneth; and a grandson, Ricky.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. There will be a get together 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Snowhounds. Graveside services will be held later in the spring in Sherman. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to help with funeral expenses. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
