Ann M. Sulier, age 82 years of Temperance, MI, died Thursday, May 03, 2007 in her home. Born Anna Mare on Nov. 18, 1924 in Patton, PA, she was the daughter of Rudolfe and Marian (Gallagher) Huber. As a young woman she bravely left her small town in 1942 for Detroit in pursuit of work. Through friends she met the love of her life, LeRoy M. Sulier they were married in 1952 and settled in Temperance, MI where they raised their three children. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1985 . Ann was customer Representative for Consumer Energy retiring in 1980. Ann was a talented artist, especially in the medium of china painting and she shared her work with friends and family. Giant Oak Golf Club claimed Ann & LeRoy as charter members and she was an officer in the association for many years. She served many bowling leagues as secretary/treasurer. Travel was always on her agenda, she & LeRoy covered many states, stopping often to play golf. She was a formidable and gracious party giver for family and friends, you could always count on good food and good fun at her house. She was proficient at the card table, playing a mean game of bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, where she was active in the funeral luncheon program. She was also a member of the Happy Red Hatters.
She leaves her loving children with cherish memories, David (Monica) Sulier of Redding, CA, Denise Sulier of Temperance, MI, and Diane Sulier of Bedford Twp., MI. She also leaves a Brother, Jack (Toni) Huber of Havertown, PA and 5 grandchildren, Leslie, April, Matthew, Nicholas and Eric and so many friends who loved her so.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-9 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where scripture services will be held Sunday at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where she will lie in state after 9:30 am . Fr. Daniel Nusbaum, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, MI. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
