October 30, 1952 - December 19, 2022

Granite Bay, California - Pamela Ann Kelly passed away on December 19, 2022, after a long battle with muscular dystrophy.

Pam lived her life to the absolute fullest. At the young age of 18 she left for Germany on her own and lived there for a year, working on a farm and learning the language.

At 22 years old, Pam was accepted into the California Highway Patrol academy, and graduated with the first CHP class that included women. She became the face of CHP recruitment for women. She had a long, distinguished career, also serving as security for California State Governor, Pete Wilson.

Pam was an incredible athlete and was always active. She was an accomplished ballet dancer, ran marathons, cycled, competed in the Police Olympics for many years, and took her physical health very seriously. Finally, Pam was a champion for animals. It was not unusual for Pam to have a stray dog or cat in her car as she was looking for their home. She volunteered at countless animal rescue agencies. She also rehabilitated injured birds for the local wild bird sanctuaries. She leaves a legacy of rescued animals who were cared for, spoiled, and well loved.

Pam is survived by her niece, Debra Vazquez, and 2 grand nephews Giuseppe and Quentin Vazquez.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Marine Mammal Center, 2000 Bunker Rd. Sausalito, CA. 94965 A memorial will be held on January 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Bayside Church 8171 Sierra College Blvd. Roseville, CA.
