Bonham, Texas – Funeral services for Claude Leon Hooks, age 66, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2003 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Carl Dye will officiate. Burial will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Hooks passed away Friday, December 26, 2003 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas.
Mr. Hooks was born December 14, 1937 in Bonham, Texas, the son of Claude Leslie Hooks and Mary Irene Ford Hooks. He was a graduate of Bonham High School.
He married Joy Woods, June 4, 1960.
Mr. Hooks was the owner and operator of Awards unlimited in Sherman, Texas. He was a member of Sherman and Denison Chambers of Commerce and Awards & Recognition Association. He was a member of First Christian Church in Bonham. Mr. Hooks was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are: wife, Joy Hooks of Bonham, Texas; son, Craig Hooks of Denison, Texas; daughter, Tracy Rater and husband, Monte, of Bonham, Texas; sister, Brenda Sherer and husband, James, of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Rater and Lauren Rater; nieces, Kim and Jami Sherer.
Pallbearers will be Jim Burns, James Towery, Tommy Higgins, Ray Neal Campbell, David Gantt and Bobby Pannkuk, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bonham High School Class of 1956.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night, December 27, 2003.
