Donald Eugene "Gene" Baugh, 67, of St. Mary-of-the-Woods, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Providence Healthcare Center in St. Mary-of-the-Woods-. He retired from Linton Precision Gear in Chicago after 30 years of service. He was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Terre Haute, to Clifford Archie Baugh and Ada Isabel Thomas Baugh. Survivors include his companion, Donna Sears of St. Mary-of-the-Woods; a daughter, Jamie Baugh of Weston, Wis.; a granddaughter, Rosemary Baugh; a sister, Rose Spencer of Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews including a niece, Angie Padgett of West Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Baugh; and a sister, Mary Ellen Higginbotham. He was a very giving, kind, loving person who would be there to help anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing. Gene will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life for Gene will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, in West Terre Haute First Assembly of God Church, 708 National Ave., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff and therapy staff of Providence Healtcare and also to the doctors and nursing staff at Union Hospital for the wonderful care they all provided to Gene. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart to Heart Hospice with envelopes available in the church.
