Rosie Lequire MARION Rosie Hooper Lequire is now at rest and went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, after many years of declining health. She had been a resident of Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care of Marion for almost eight years. Rosie will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and great-great-great grandmother. Rosie was born to Ed Hooper and Carrie Martin Hooper on March 26, 1917 in Greenville, S.C., but raised in rural North Carolina. She was the eldest of five children, Woodrow, Ralph, Joe and Lorene Hooper Church, who have all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three husbands, Otis Ashe, Clyde Joseph Cody and Columbus Lequire; sons, Walter Ashe, Otis James Ashe and Sammy Cody; a daughter, Beatrice Cody; and two grand children, Rachel Ashe Capps and Harold Cody. Surviving are three sons, Kenneth Ashe and his wife, Ruby of Marion, Glen Cody and his wife, Audrey of King's Mountain, and Clyde Cody, Jr. and his wife, Eleanor of Lexington; daughter, Linda Cody Rabon and her husband, Hallie Rabon, Jr. of Marion; special daughters-in-law; Nellie Ashe, wife of Walter Ashe of Trinity and Gladys Ashe, wife of James Ashe of Marion. She is also survived by 27 wonderful grandchildren, whom she loved very much, 47 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Services were held Monday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m., at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, Marion. Viewing was at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. James Walker officiating.
