O'Connor, age 72 of Whitelaw, his family with heavy hearts, announces that he passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born on May 17, 1950 in Iron River, MI, son of the late Ervin and Mabel (Des Jarlais) O'Connor. He was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1968.

On November 14, 1970 Roger married the former Sheryl Stahl at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Over the years Roger would say he was a "jack of all trades-master of none". He was part owner of 29 Sausage for many years with his brothers. Roger worked most of his life as a meat cutter and meat department manager. He was also well known for his deer cutting business – for over 30 years.

In 1985, Roger and Sheryl started their family business well known as O'Connor's Concessions, running this business with his family for 37 years! He was commonly known as "the candy man" and could often be found driving around town or at local events in his beloved ice cream truck with his wife and family. This created everlasting and priceless memories, with family and friends. Roger also enjoyed playing Santa with his wife as Elf, for many years. He was a member of the Reedsville Knights of Columbus #5798. Roger loved to tell stories, speak his own language to confuse people and B-s'ing. More than anything he loved to spend time with his family, his pride and joy. Roger was also a huge fan of John Wayne & Johnny Cash.
