Mrs. Mecie Culler Terry age 88 of Meadows of Dan, VA passed away at her home Saturday, February 16, 2008. She was born March 6, 1919 in Patrick County, VA to the late Henderson Dalton Culler and Calerie Ada Stanley. Mrs. Terry was a homemaker and a member of Reed Island Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ola Mae and Lenwood Bowman of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar and Betty Terry and Oneal and Oneeda Terry all of Meadows of Dan, VA; nine grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; seven great-great grandchilddren; sisters, Mary Jessup of Meadows of Dan, VA and Reva Painter of Hillsville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Harwood Terry; a sister, Wavie Kimble and a brother, Allen Culler. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Roland McCraw and Rev. Lonnie Hylton with burial to follow in Terry–Barnard Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special thanks to Nancy, Jerri, Pat, Deb and Marilyn at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
