Professional Baseball Player. After serving in the United States Army and seeing time in the Korean War he was discharged. After returning home he was signed as a free agent pitcher by the Kansas City Athletics. He made his Major League debut with them on September 15, 1956. In the two seasons that he played for the Athletics in 1956 and 1958, he only pitched in 3 games. Due to an automobile accident, his major league career was cut short. He also competed in the Caribbean World Series and was a champion in this league. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Baseball Hall of Fame. He distinguished himself when he struck out all of the top three Yankees players known as "Murderer's Row."
