Sara Addy, age 87, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
A graveside service for Sara will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 119 North Church Street, Lexington, South Carolina 29072.
Sara Corbin Shirley Addy, of Lexington, SC, went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2023.
A private graveside memorial was held on January 12, 2023 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church cemetery, presided over by Pastor Lance Henderson of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in West Columbia.
Sara was the daughter of the late Charlie G. Shirley and Bertha Howard Shirley. She was born on January 4, 1936 in Anderson, SC and moved with her family to North Charleston, SC when she was three years old.
She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and attended Palmer College in Charleston.
Sara was retired from the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. She met the "love of her life", Major Henry M. Addy (retired, deceased) and they celebrated 59 years of marriage.
In Sara's younger years, she was a gifted athlete, playing fast pitch softball well into her 30s. Sara also loved dancing, cooking, travelling and most of all, Sara loved her family. A woman of grace and dignity, her kindness and generosity were unparalleled, leaving her family with beautiful memories.
