David Lee Coppini
1949-2022

David Lee Coppini passed away at home on December 10, 2022 at the age of 73.

Dave was born August 29, 1949 in Scotia to parents Frances and Hilda Coppini, the eldest of their six children. Dave grew up in Ferndale on his father's dairy and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1967. He lived his entire life in Humboldt County working many years for Fred and Edith Fearrien, driving cattle truck and owning and running his own dairy in Loleta. Dave was a hard worker who loved working with animals. He definitely had a gift with animals. He especially enjoyed working with horses and you could see him competing in local rodeos doing several events including bull riding, roping and Wild Cow Milking.

You couldn't walk down the street with Dave without him stopping and talking to people along the way. Those who knew him could always expect a lively story or a joke and a laugh. Stranger wasn't a word he seemed to know.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Hilda Coppini and his grandmother Mary "Gram" Coppini. He is survived by his friend Lori Hansen and her two daughters, his three children, Steve Coppini, Kristy Millsap and Renee McCraghen and his seven grandchildren (with one on the way) and two great-grandsons.

Dave did not want a funeral, instead he was cremated and this spring his long-time friend, Claire Bugenig, will spread his ashes in Blocksburg where he worked for many years and enjoyed spending time.
