Janet Eileen Jones, daughter of Charles Jones and Margaret (Johnson) Jones, was born on February 1, 1933, in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1951 and attended junior college for art classes.
Janet married Stanley Burton.
On June 16, 1956, Janet married Benard Jansen in Mason City. She worked for many years as an optician for Drs. Olson, Brauer and Niemann.
Surviving are her children, Dawn Burton of Omaha, Nebraska, Debbie (Paul) Anderson of Aurora, Colorado, and Brenda (John) Branca of Webster City; grandchildren, Jay Anderson, Kenneth Anderson, Jon Anderson, Nicholas Keenan, Daniel Keenan, Nathan Keenan, Cory Keenan, Gabrielle Branca; great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene (Ronald) Ulmer of Florida; brothers-in-law, Jimmie Jansen of Kamrar, Elton (Pat) Jansen of Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded is death by her husband, Benard; siblings, Arend (Betty) Jansen, RaeJean Jansen, Anna (Paul) Barkema, and Joyce (Richard) Hinderaker.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and volunteered many hours working in the Hamilton Hospital gift shop. Janet enjoyed painting, baking, and putting puzzles together.
