While travelling on the train for work on November 14, 1898, George stopped in Grand Junction. At around 9:30 P.M., he died suddenly in the Payne and Kane Saloon in Grand Junction, Colorado. He dropped to the floor without warning and no foul play was reported, but no death certificate or coroner reports have been located indicating the cause of death. George was 43 when he died, and was buried there in an unmarked grave on November 16th.

Gravesite Details
There is no marker for George's grave. The cemetery burial lookup had George's last name incorrectly recorded as "Craveshaw." This was corrected on 13 Jan 2023.
