MARY (BECKY) QUELLHORST, age 67 of rural New Bremen, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 4:35 P.M. after a tough battle with cancer.

She was born on November 28, 1955 in Lima, the daughter of James D. Reinhart who survives in Wapakoneta, and the late Evelyn M. (Buchanan) Reinhart.

On October 15, 1977, she married Thomas W. Quellhorst, who survives in New Bremen. Also surviving are her children: Matthew and Jennifer Quellhorst of Reedsville, WI, Sarah Quellhorst of New Knoxville, Amanda and Tau Edwards of New Bremen; her grandchildren: Ariyah, Makena, and Cailyn Pfenning, Jaxon and Dallas Edwards. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Deborah (Stanley) Brown of St. Marys, Janna (Erik) Hirschfeld of New Bremen, and David (Dawn) Reinhart of Botkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky graduated as the Valedictorian of her class in 1974 from Jackson Center High School. She then went on to attend the Miami Valley School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1977. She began her career as a surgical nurse at Lima Memorial Hospital and then worked at the Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital in St. Marys for 42 years before retiring in 2020.

Tom and Becky enjoyed taking family trips to their house down at Norris Lake, and also taking road trips to Wisconsin and during the Covid shut down, traveled to many ice cream shops.

Becky was talented pianist and organist as a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. She used her musical talents as a substitute organist for many years. She also had been a member of the choir, the bell choir, a past member of church council, and substitute organist at other area churches.

She loved to golf with family and friends and she also enjoyed gardening, baking, and attending county fairs. Becky truly valued her family and spending time with her grandchildren was her favorite. She loved to have teaching moments with each of them and enjoyed baking with them and attending their various activities.
