Mary may well be the child that died before 1900, since the only record of her can be found in the 1880 census. Mary would have died between 1893 (twelve children are mentioned in her father's obituary) and 1895, when her mother moved to Kansas, but is shown in the 1895 Kansas census with only two sons living with her.
