Trevor Ryan "Trey" Dougherty, 2 l/2, of the 900 block of High Point Circle, went to be with the Lord Feb. 17, 2008, in the University of Minnesota Medical Center. He was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church Sunday School. Surviving are his parents, Matthew Ryan Lee and Bobbie Lee Dougherty; paternal great-grandparents and caregivers, Sonny and Linda Clark; paternal grandparents, Bill and Melinda Johnson; and paternal great-uncle, Christopher Clark; maternal great-grandmother, Rose Marie Edwards; maternal grandparents, Ware Dougherty and Virginia "Sam" Rodgers; maternal grandmother, Lynn Henderson-Dougherty; maternal aunt, Nikki Dougherty; maternal great-aunts and -uncles, Mike, John and Gretchen Dougherty; and numerous other cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Jack Dougherty. Trey was a happy, loving baby boy who enjoyed some special things during his short life such as taking a ride in a fire engine and playing ball with the fireman at Virginia Beach Engine Company 10 and taking a special behind-the-scenes tour to pet the animals at the Norfolk Zoo. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, 1832 Elbow Road, Chesapeake, with Pastor Harry Vanderford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Building Fund of Calvary Road Baptist Church, 1832 Elbow Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507 or a children's healthcare organization of your choice.
