Wofford, Enoch F.(incorrect initial) – Born April 10, 1846, Smith's Store. Enlisted Dec. 1861, Co. E., 18th Reg., S.C.V. Capt. F. Marion Tucker. Transferred to Gist's Guard Art. Slightly wounded at Fort Sumter, also at Fort Royal, Va. Farmer. "One hundred ten volunteered in Co. E., with about forty recruits. I think about twenty are living."

Son of James Bennett Wofford and Juliet Susan Shands. His Wofford ancestors, originally from Wales, first settled in Maryland, then settled in the 96th District of South Carolina, the Spartanburg area.
