Ethel Seghret Cross was born May 8, 1911 at Clarinda, Iowa to Robert William and Louise Della (Parrott) Swingle. Ethel passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at Lexington Place Nursing & Rehab (under the care of Season's Hospice), Richland Hills, Texas, at the age of 96.
Ethel was a graduate of Clarinda High School. She married Theron Raymond Cross December 25, 1953 and they have one daughter, Terri. Ethel worked as a cook prior to retirement at the A&W in Clarinda. She loved crocheting, putting quilts together and spending time with her family. In 1996 she moved from Clarinda living in Oklahoma, California and settling in Texas with her daughter.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Beryl, Floyd, Rossco, Lawrence, Harry.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Spencer and husband Terry, granddaughter Tabitha Mann and husband Michael, granddaughter Kendra Kay Fagan, grandson Niko Devon Anthony Speer, great grandson Billy Bruce Mann, great grandson, great granddaughter Arial Marie Fagan all of Fort Worth Texas, grandson Michael T Speer of Bridgeport Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are being planned for May 27, 2008 at the Clarinda Cememtery, Clarinda, Iowa. Walker-Merrick is in charge of services.
