David J. Rea, 63, of Valley City. Ohio passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. Dave was born September 13, 1956 in Detroit, MI. Son of the late John and Betty Rea. He has resided in Valley City since 1966. Dave was a 1974 graduate of Buckeye High School. Dave was a truck driver prior to driving a school bus for the Buckeye Local School System. He served as Liverpool Township Zoning inspector for many years. Dave was very community involved throughout his life. He was instrumental in forming the former Valley City Youth League , which included soccer, football and baseball , then merged into the current Buckeye Youth League. Dave has been a very devoted official high school football statistician for the Buckeye and Brunswick for many years. Survived by his son Justin (Megan) Rea, grandchildren Aurora, Stilez and Astella Rea. Brother of Jan (Tom) Hablitzel and Doug (Deborah) Rea. Uncle of Charlie, Heather, Evan and Amy. Following Dave's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made if desired to the Valley City Fire & Rescue Department.
