Jimmie Lee Bacon was born on August 30, 1947, to the late Abraham and Thelma Bacon in Waycross, Georgia.

He transitioned peacefully on January 9, 2023.

Jimmie received his primary and secondary education in the Ware County School System. He furthered his education at Albany State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

After graduation, he successfully pursued employment opportunities with the CSX Railroad where he became a conductor. After numerous years of railroad experiences, he retired in 2002.
Jimmie's enthusiasm for helping others was evidenced in church, community, and civic endeavors.

Accepting Christ at an early age, he joined the New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia. Later, he joined the Trinity Missionary Baptist,
where he served untiringly. His affiliations included the deacon board, mission ministry, finance committee, and he was a Sunday School teacher, and so much more. Additionally, he served as the treasurer for the Western Division Union and the South Georgia Missionary Baptist Association. Deacon Bacon's-soft spoken demeanor and willingness to serve others was depicted in his leadership as president of the Thompson Community Center and coordinator of the Second Harvest Food Distribution for the Boston area. His dedication to mankind was recognized when he was honored as the 2020-2021 Layman of the Year by the Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention.

He leaves to cherish his love and legacy: a loving wife, Patricia Anne Bacon; sons, Jarvis Bacon, Jimmie R. Bacon (Adrienne), and Michael Gail (Satureno); stepchildren, Keith Thomas, Craig Thomas, and Felicia Anne Bass; brother, Donnell Bacon (Mildred); sisters-in-law, Retta Williams, Kathleen Mitchell, and Annie Pearl Stephens (Terry); grandchildren, Danelle Moore, Damien Moore, Gerald Hardnett, Jalin Gail, and Lalia Gail; great-grand, Gabriel Moore; niece, Carolyn Simpson (Claude); along with a host of loving cousins and friends.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

II Timothy 4:7
