Adolphus C. Parrish, age 81 of Hammond, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond. He is survived by his wife, Sally; one son, Victor (Evelyn) Parrish of Vail, CO; two daughters: Linda Parrish and Brenda Parrish both of Hammond; nine grandchildren: Kian Moore, Robert Bates, Candis and Senai Smith, Victoria, LaToya, Veres, Diamond and Demetrius Parrish; 13 great grandchildren; four brothers: Rev. John (Marie) Parrish of Dallas, TX, Curtis Parrish of Gary, Eugene Parrish of Mesa, AZ and Rev. Maurice (Annetta) Parrish of Hammond; two sisters: Clote (J.W.) Parrish-Morrow of Mesa, AZ and Dorothy (James) Norwood of Indianapolis; special nephew, Roland Parrish of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his brothers: William Parrish II, Earl Parrish and Elbert Parrish; and sister, Inez Washington. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 6153 Ray Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Terrance Williams, Pastor and Rev. Maurice Parrish officiating. Interment at Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Bethel AME Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Mr. Parrish was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Hinton & Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
