With tearful and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Alvin Alexander Kmet on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at TBRHSC at the age of 75 years.

Born in Kapuskasing, Ontario he lived the majority of his life in Thunder Bay and worked in purchasing with various companies until his retirement from Fort William Historical Park in 1995.

Alvin was a dedicated member of St. George's Society and actively involved in the community and beyond.
Alvin also enjoyed partridge hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. His sense of humour was appreciated by many and the laughter he created will be greatly missed.

His memory will be cherished by daughters, Debbie, Linda and Susanne; brothers, Harold, Jerry and Bill; sisters, Stella Saczawa, Jenny Marino, Mary Lewis, Annie Cayouette and stepsister Maria Makisczuk; grandchildren, Justin, Johnathon, Jason, Jeffrey and Amanda as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless friends.

Predeceased by his father, Steve; mother, Katerina; brother, Eddie; sister in infancy and stepmother Josephine Drew.

Funeral services for Alvin will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 when family and friends will gather for Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Cross (415 West Victoria Avenue) at 11:00am celebrated by Rev. Andrija Petresin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the Church. Services will be complete in the church with cremation to follow.
Final private family interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
If friends desire, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Alvin Kmet in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service
